PRESCHOOL COORDINATOR

Mrs. Marilyn Ostergaard (Mrs. O):

After 21 years as a preschool teacher with the Lisle Park District, I will no longer be in the classroom with students of my own. Tough decision. The out-of-town grandchildren had much influence on this change. But my foot continues to be in the door, as my supervisors have given me the nod to remain actively engaged in the preschool as coordinator. So one or two days per week, I will be in the classrooms and in my office working to assist staff and students so that Gentle Learning continues to make your child's first learning experiences the best that they can be. I can be reached by phone 630-353-4345, email mostergaard@lisleparkdistrict.org or in person on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays.

Mrs. Tracey Witt:

I love being a part of the staff at Gentle Learning Preschool. What a wonderful learning environment! This is my 11th year in the classroom after many years working in an early childhood administrative position for a small parochial school in the city. I received my B.A and teaching certificate from Dominican University, River Forest. I teach the Monday through Friday 4 year old class, many of the Enrichment classes and coordinate the Kids Day Out program. I love to experience days filled with learning, playing, and exploring. It is so rewarding watching the children learn and grow. I look forward to getting to know all the children and their families this year. Happy learning!!

I have an Early Childhood degree from Northeastern Illinois University and am certified K-9 in both Will and DuPage Counties. In past years, I have taught kindergarten in Chicago, Religious Education in Naperville and was a Girl Scout Leader for five years. I also worked as a teacher's aide in District 203 and volunteered at a Naperville School helping students individually in reading and reading stories to students K-9. I live in Naperville with my husband and we have 2 adult daughters. I am looking forward to a wonderful year getting to know you and your child.

Mrs. Michelle Hanssel:

This will be my 9th year with Gentle Learning Preschool, teaching three year olds throughout the week. I attended Elmhurst College, where I received an Elementary Education Degree. Prior to coming to Gentle Learning, I taught for five years at the elementary level: 1 year of Kindergarten, 2 years of fourth grade, and 2 years of fifth grade! I live in the Green Trails area of Lisle with my husband and two children. I love teaching preschool and look forward to meeting new families and reuniting with previous ones!

Mrs. Shelley Blumberg:

I am so excited to get back into the classroom! I graduated from Illinois State University with an Elementary Education degree. Prior to starting a family, I taught 5th grade for 6 years, I have also taught kindergarten and worked in daycare. My husband and I have lived in Lisle for the last 7 years and have 4 young boys. I have been a stay at home mom for the past 9 years and am very eager to begin working in the classroom again teaching preschool. I am looking forward to continuing my relationship with Gentle Learning preschool as a parent and now as an educator.

Mrs. Anne Onorati:

This will be my first year at Gentle Learning Preschool and I am very excited to work with the 3 year olds. I taught at the elementary level prior to having my own children. While staying home with my children the past 14 years, I was able to tutor, teach religious education and volunteer for many different activities at my kid’s schools. I have a B.A. from Benedictine University in Sociology and an M.A. from Roosevelt University in Education. I have three children ages 14, 10, and 7. I look forward to revisiting the preschool stages through teaching and can’t wait to meet the children and their families!

Mrs. Eileen McShea:

I have the good fortune of teaching the youngest members of our learning community. I teach two and three year olds in the Stepping Stones and All By Myself programs. For many little ones our class in their very first introduction to school so we strive to make it a very positive experience. It is our goal to make each and every student know exactly how important they are and to help them grow, learn and socialize all while having lots of fun! This is my 14th year at the Lisle Park District. I have a BA from St. Mary's University of Minnesota and am married with five children of my own. I am looking forward to another wonderful year.
