PRESCHOOL COORDINATOR

Mrs. Marilyn Ostergaard (Mrs. O):

My elementary education certification came from Dominican University, with a BA in Business Administration. Both have served me well in my position as teacher and coordinator since I came on board to work for the preschool in 1995. Supervisors and staff, families and students, building facilities, educational trends and curriculum have changed within the 20+ years I have worked here. One thing remains the same: our focus is to help our students want to be lifelong learners. So I continue to help and support the staff and families that make our school the center that it is, a place to learn through playing and having fun. You will find me in the classrooms or my office 2 days per week. Please stop in or email or call to voice an opinion, concern, observation, or compliment. We want to hear from you.

Mrs. Tracey Witt:

I began working at our school in 2006. I have an elementary education certificate and a BA in social science from Dominican University. I was a first grade teacher, preschool coordinator, and worked for the archdiocese of Chicago, helping preschools get accreditation from NAEYC. My goal is to foster a lifelong love of learning among my students. I am married with 3 children, and enjoy reading and biking when I get the opportunity to do so.

Mrs. Nancy Staib:

My teaching degree is from Northeastern Illinois University, and I am certified K-9 in both Will and DuPage counties. I have taught kindergarten in Chicago, as well as been a teacher’s aide in school district 203. I believe it is equally important to support the social and emotional development of young children, as is the academic development. I started my career at the preschool in 2003, when I was first hired as an aide. I love to travel and read in my spare time. I am married, have 2 adult daughters, and live in Naperville with my husband.

Mrs. Shelley Blumberg:

I joined the preschool staff in 2016. My teaching degree is from Illinois State University, and I have previously taught 5th grade and kindergarten. I have also worked in daycare. It is very important to me to create a positive learning environment through play and exploration. I strive to make sure every student knows and feels they are an important and special part of the class. I live in Lisle with my husband and 4 sons, and I enjoy camping and cheering for the Cubs!

Mrs. Anne Onorati:

I have a BA in sociology and a MA in education. In the past, I taught at the elementary level, tutored students, and taught religious education. I came on board the preschool in 2016. It is important to me that children have the opportunity to use their imaginations, along with learning the skills that help them become as independent as possible. I live in Naperville with my husband and 3 children, and enjoy watching my children play sports whenever possible.

Mrs. Eileen McShea:

I graduated from St. Mary’s University in MN, and began teaching at the park district in 2002. I have taught enrichment and sports classes over the years in addition to being a supervisor of the After School program at Tate Woods School. My most important role is being the lead teacher of Stepping Stones, where I can help first time students feel comfortable with school. My goal is to create a welcoming environment for each student. I want each child to love coming to school so that their first classroom experience is very positive. I am married with 5 children, and enjoy reading.
